Day 1: Arrival in Fes

Welcome to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual capital. Upon arrival at the airport or train station, you will be greeted and transferred to your traditional riad in the historic medina. The rest of the day is yours to relax and soak in your first impressions of this ancient city.

Day 2: Full Day in Fes with Tour Guide

Dive deep into the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali medina with a knowledgeable local guide. Explore the iconic Al-Attarine Madrasa, the historic Chouara Tannery, and the vibrant souks. Visit the Royal Palace gates and the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) to fully appreciate the city’s rich, layered history and living craft traditions.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Depart Fes and journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in the alpine-style town of Ifrane and the Azrou Cedar Forest to see Barbary macaques. Descend through the dramatic Ziz Gorge into the vast palm oasis of the Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga. A sunset camel trek carries you into the Erg Chebbi dunes for your first night at a luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Exploration

Wake for a breathtaking Sahara sunrise. After breakfast, a 4×4 tour takes you to visit nomadic families, explore the stark black desert (Hamada), and experience the spiritual Gnawa music of Khamlia village. Enjoy a second serene night under the endless desert stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

After a final desert sunrise, visit the traditional market in Rissani. Travel to the magnificent Todra Gorge to walk between its towering cliffs. Continue along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to the dramatic rock formations of the Dades Valley for your overnight stay.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast, travel through the fragrant Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis. Continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa,” before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Explore this famous fortified ksar and spend the night in a nearby guesthouse.

Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with numerous stops for photos of breathtaking landscapes. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon and check into your accommodation. The evening is free to explore Djemaa el-Fna square at your own pace.

Day 8: Full Day in Marrakech with Tour Guide

Discover the “Red City” with your guide. Visit the opulent Bahia Palace, the mysterious Saadian Tombs, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. Lose yourself in the bustling souks before returning to the mesmerizing spectacle of Djemaa el-Fna in the evening.

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat

Travel west to the Atlantic coast. In Casablanca, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, perched dramatically over the ocean. Continue to the capital, Rabat, to explore the Hassan Tower, the Royal Mausoleum, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 10: Rabat – Departure from Casablanca

After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Rabat. You will then be transferred to Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your grand 10-day Moroccan tour.
