3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley

We’ll collect you from your accommodation and journey over the stunning Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Our first key stop is the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village that has starred in many famous films. After some exploration, we continue through Ouarzazate and the Rose Valley, arriving at the dramatic Dades Valley for our first night in a local hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to the impressive Todra Gorge, where you can walk between its towering canyon walls. The journey then leads you to the golden dunes of Merzouga. Here, you’ll mount a camel for a peaceful trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch a spectacular sunset. You’ll spend the night in a comfortable, traditional desert camp, enjoying a delicious dinner and Berber music under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes

Wake up early for a magical sunrise over the Sahara before returning to Merzouga for breakfast. We then begin our drive north, passing through the scenic Ziz Valley with its vast palm groves, and stopping in the town of Midelt. The landscape evolves as we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, with chances to see wild monkeys in the cedar forests. We will arrive in Fes in the early evening, marking the end of your desert adventure.
